Why do you grind or shot blast the concrete versus acid etching or deep cleaning the concrete surface?A floor coating’s performance depends on adequate surface preparation. Polymer floor coatings ideally bond to concrete with a rough, sandpaper finish; this is best done using shot blasting, diamond grinding, or power sanding. Industry standards do not endorse acid etching as a proper method for surface preparation.
